Renowned open-wheel squad Arden Motorsport has confirmed 2015 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship graduate Zane Goddard will form part of a three-car lineup in the 2017 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Championship.
The Gold Coast teenager claimed four race wins and eight podiums in the 2016 British F4 Championship, and displayed scintillating pace throughout winter testing with Arden’s Formula Renault.
“I am super excited about the season ahead. To be racing with Arden in the Formula Renault 2,0 Eurocup Championship is amazing,” Goddard said.
“After my first test with the team, I could straight away see the determination to succeed amongst every member of the team. I have no doubts that by race one of the season we will have a super competitive car and all the tools to achieve big things.”
“The field will be ultra-competitive and also having the opportunity to race at so many big name circuits such as racing at Monaco on the Formula 1 weekend will be so beneficial in years to come.”
Goddard will race alongside some familiar faces, with fellow Australian and British Formula 4 colleague Luis Leeds joining the 2016 Championship winning squad Josef Kaufmann Racing.
Leeds is fresh off the back of finishing third overall in the 2016 British F4 Championship with Arden Motorsport, and recently competed in the 2017 Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand.
Territorian driver Thomas Maxwell will be third Australian to take part in the Eurocup series, with the BRDC British F3 graduate teaming up with Tech 1 Racing.
The opening round of the 2017 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Championship will take place at Monza in Italy on April 22–23.
