Nick Rowe has traded fastest times with Ryan Suhle in Practice Two for the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship at Phillip Island.
The duo were only split by 0.0928 seconds, with both drivers showing encouraging pace prior to this afternoon’s qualifying session – scheduled for 3:15pm AEST.
“P1, it was all good! The boys did an awesome job. The car was mega, and for Sage [Murdoch] to get fourth as well was awesome,” Rowe said.
The ever improving Sage Murdoch of AGI Sport completed the session an impressive fourth, only three-tenths off championship leader Liam Lawson who was third.
The remaining Team BRM contingent of Josh Denton, Cameron Shields, Aaron Love and Simon Fallon remained close ahead of Tyler Everingham and Zak Best to round out the top ten.
“I had a spin going up Lukey [Heights]. Had a lock up as well which wasn’t good. Kept it off the fence, that was the main thing,” Best said.
The drivers again had to contend with limited tyre life, with the field practicing with sets from the highly abrasive Barbagallo round.
“Just slowly, slowly getting towards the front with the tyre life we have got. Hopefully qualifying will go a lot better,” Denton said.
Qualifying for the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship will commence at 3:15pm AEST, with live timing available on the formula4.com.au website.
