Seven young drivers are today participating in a Formula 4 test at Winton.
The drivers have had a taste of the Mygale Formula 4 cars, getting their heads around a new style of machinery used in the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship.
Broc Feeney from the Gold Coast was at the track after his strong results in the Australian Kart Championship, partaking in his second F4 test.
“It’s been a great day so far, the first session was just trying to get my confidence back from my first test… under braking it’s completely different to the go-kart so I’m just trying to adapt to that style for the moment,” Feeney said.
“It’s obviously very fast down the straight and in the corners with the downforce, I’m really enjoying it.
“I had a test here last year, I won the prize for coming in the top three in the Australian Kart Championship last year, so I have the same opportunity this year, so hopefully I go a bit better than I did last year.”
Jonathon Marcusson also reflected on his first experience in a Formula 4 car.
“It’s quite different to the go-kart, it’s a lot more faster than usual… you have to be really smooth in the Formula 4,” Marcusson said.
The drivers will continue their test for the day, alongside some of the regular championship runners.
