Patrizicorse adds experience to Grand Prix lineup

Porsche racer Aaron Zerefos will partner Jackson Walls in a two-car lineup at Patrizicorse for this weekend’s opening round of the CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Championship at Albert Park.

Supporting this weekend’s Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix, Zerefos will enjoy five sessions aboard the Patrizicorse-Bertocchi Racing Formula 4 in what will be his first open-wheel race.

With extensive experience in production cars and GT3 machinery in Australia and America, Zerefos is excited to sample the unique open-wheel experience.

“I’ve always wanted to have a go in an F4, I have been following the Australian and European championships and it is very competitive racing,” Zerefos said.

“My whole career has been in tin tops, mainly focusing on Porsche Cup Cars. I think to be a complete race driver you need to experience as many different types of machinery as you can.

“The F4 will be a new experience and a big challenge, there are some very talented drivers in the field.”

Though the Formula 4 car will take some learning for Zerefos to adapt, he does have the advantage of previously competing at the Albert Park Circuit aboard a BMW Mini Challenge car in 2010.

“I love the Albert Park GP Circuit and have had some success there in the past – my plan will be to chip away all weekend and have fun,” Zerefos said.

“I’d like to thank Michael Patrizi and Patrizicorse for the opportunity – I can’t wait to work with the team in Melbourne, they have lots of experience with F4 cars and motor sport in general.”

Zerefos will partner championship driver, and last season’s Burson Auto Parts Rookie runner-up, Jackson Walls at Patrizicorse.

Round one of the 2019 CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Championship will support the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2019 this week from 14–17 March, with practice and qualifying taking place on Thursday.
