With the penultimate round of the 2015 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship at Phillip Island looming, teams will be making the most of the final open test day for the year.
AGI Sport and DREAM Motorsport will be present for the open test at Winton next Monday, while Team BRM have already completed a test day at Phillip Island earlier this week.
“This is our last test day for the year and I can’t believe how quickly this inaugural season has gone,” Australian Formula 4 Category Manager Cameron McConville said.
While AGI Sport and DREAM Motorsport will field their usual series drivers, two karters will also sample Formula 4 machinery for the first time at Winton.
Preparations are well underway for the 2016 championship, with a confirmed calendar due to be confirmed.
“Whilst we still have two more rounds [in 2015], planning has ramped right up and we are hopeful of announcing our 2016 schedule in the next fortnight,” McConville said.
“The goal has always been to deliver a calendar that provides a mixture of high profile events but also the best circuits in Australia.
“We are also working hard on a potential new event for the Championship that could see F4 have an international twist.”
Round Six of the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship visits the iconic Phillip Island Circuit in Victoria on November 20 – 22.
Team BRM’s Jordan Lloyd leads the drivers’ championship on 315 points after Round Five on the streets of the Gold Coast. DREAM Motorsport’s Thomas Randle remains in close proximity on 276 points.
