2015 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship graduate Thomas Randle has confirmed he will contest the 2016 BRDC Formula 4 Championship in the United Kingdom.
Fresh from a strong outing during last weekend’s Toyota Racing Series New Zealand Grand Prix, the Australian Formula 4 Championship runner-up was excited to announce that he would be teaming up with Douglas Motorsport.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be teaming up with Douglas Motorsport,” Randle said.
“The new Cosworth powered Tatuus looks quite quick, and having seen the team’s recent results with the new car, I am confident we can be quite strong in our championship assault.
“I’m also looking forward to working with my engineer Marcus Koch, who has a lot of experience in World Series Renault and many other leading one make formula categories. I believe we will develop a great relationship throughout the year to produce some strong results.”
Randle joins his former DREAM Motorsport teammate Luis Leeds and Team BRM teen Zane Goddard in the United Kingdom, with both drivers recently confirmed to compete in the MSA Formula in 2016.
“I’m heading off to the UK this Sunday night and know that living overseas will be a bit of culture shock, but this is what I have always wanted to do and I am planning on maximising the opportunity.
“We have nine days of testing before the season kicks off and my first drive of the car will be at the Silverstone circuit next Friday … I can’t wait to get out on track.”
Randle’s first competitive race weekend will be at the opening BRDC Formula 4 round at Snetterton on March 27–28.
