Will Brown has continued to assert his dominance at Symmons Plains by securing the U Race It Pole Position.
Despite technical gremlins forcing Brown to park at Turn 4, causing the sole red flag of the session, Brown managed to secure pole by a staggering 0.05 seconds from Jordan Love.
“Yeah really exciting to get the U Race It Pole Position. It was always going to be tough, it came down to the last lap,” Brown said.
“Obviously we’re looking at the racing now, it’s all close so hopefully we can come home with a few wins.”
After making overnight tweaks to his Team BRM car, Jordan Love is hopeful of claiming victory for Race One this afternoon.
“There’s a couple of things I need to work on but pretty happy with 2nd,” Love said.
“The aim for Race One is to get a good start and hopefully I can make my way onto the top step.”
With Nick Rowe’s throttle sensor problems failing to return, third place on the grid was an encouraging result for the AGI Sport pilot.
“We’re on third so that puts us in the race and hopefully we can get a good start,” Rowe said.
“Hopefully we can get up the front there and challenge Will, we’ll see what happens. It was getting better and better as the session goes on but we just ran out of laps there in the end.”
15-year-old debutant Tyler Everingham impressed with the equally new JRD to claim sixth place, and to be only one second off Brown’s pole time.
“I found a lot more pace since the first practice session and obviously my first day,” Everingham said.
“I’m starting to get comfortable with the car now and the aero feels good, the grip feels good, it was really good.”
Race One for the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship gets underway from 3:10pm, with Races Two and Three to follow on Sunday.
