Team BRM’s Jordan Love is looking forward to achieving more success for Round Five of the 2016 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship at Sandown Raceway.
Having already raced at Sandown Raceway in 2015, Love is eager to add to his list of race wins having won Round Two of this year’s championship at Phillip Island.
“Only two rounds to go, I’m really looking forward to Sandown,” Love said.
“I raced there last year and loved it. Hopefully we can be quick there, but anything can happen and we’ll do everything we can.”
With the Sandown 500 having a retro theme as part of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, Love’s own experience with a historic racing car is perhaps more contemporary than most would expect.
“That’s a tough one! I haven’t driven many old cars but I drove a 2007 GP2 car. I managed to get 10 laps in one of those last year but that awesome fun,” Love said.
“I haven’t driven anything really old school but if I was, I would have a few laps in an old V8, one of the old touring cars I reckon that’d be good fun.”
Whilst the battle for the 2016 Championship intensifies with only six races and two rounds remaining, the spirit amongst the drivers is incredibly positive.
“Everyone seems to be everybody’s mate, especially the four of us – Will [Brown], Harry [Hayek] and [Nick Rowe] Rowie,” Love said.
“It’s all good fun and laughs and stuff, but when it comes on track I think it’s almost forget about all that and win at all costs! But it’s all good fun.”
Round Five of the CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship next visits Sandown Raceway in Victoria, supporting the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship’s Sandown 500 on September 16–18.
