2015 CAMS Jayco Australian Formula 4 Championship graduate Zane Goddard will be returning to Australia in 2018, after confirming his place on the Super2 Series grid.
The BGD Architects driver will pilot a Brad Jones Racing prepared VF Commodore, with his first pre-season test to take place Winton next week.
After exclusively racing open-wheelers in Australia, British F4 and most recently Formula Renault 2.0, Goddard enjoyed his first taste of a touring car with BJR late last year.
“I’m very excited for the season ahead with BJR. I’m looking forward to the new challenge of jumping from a single seater to the Super2 Commodore and I feel I’m in the perfect team to do that,” Goddard said.
“The two test days I had with the team last season were very promising for myself. I felt the environment in the team made it easy to learn over those two days as every time I was out of the car I was told exactly what I needed to improve step by step.”
The opening round of the Super2 Series will take place on the iconic streets of the Adelaide 500 in March.
Goddard will be racing amongst familiar company, with former Australian Formula 4 drivers include now teammate Jack Smith, Tickford Racing’s Thomas Randle, Eggleston Motorsport’s Will Brown, and potentially Brenton Grove racing in Super2.
